Job Description
Hiring Range: $32.00 - $36.00/hour (includes $.50-1.00 per hour differential, depending on level of bilingual assessment passed)
Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
The Bilingual Triage Nurse is responsible for evaluating CHA patient conditions over the phone, determining the urgency of their medical needs, and directing them to appropriate levels of care. The nurse will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient delivery of medical services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prioritize patient care based on the severity of their condition, following established protocols and guidelines
Communicate effectively with patients and their families to gather relevant information and provide instructions
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement care plan
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and comprehensively
Monitor patient progress and respond promptly to any changes in their condition
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during stressful situations
Education/Experience: Registered Nurse with 5 or more years of experience required. Experience in telephone triage, pediatrics, and emergency department triage is desired. Bilingual assessment must be passed.
License: A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. Current CPR certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize competing demands
Must be proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology
