Job Description

As a Designer for THE GREAT. you will work to help initiate concepts each season that are fashion-driven and reflective of the creative vision and brand aesthetic. You must be organized and detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to shifting priorities within overlapping seasonal calendars.

You will be responsible for contributing to the research, development, sketching, and development of tech packs to execute styles on a seasonal basis. This role will work closely with vendors and cross-functional teams in developing excellent product that achieves cost, quality, fit and timing goals of the company.

Reporting into our Design Director, the designer role works within the greater product team executing design development and realization of products that closely adhere to the brand's vision and direction.

Responsibilities:

• Work on design development across multi product categories, ensuring alignment with brand identity
• Responsible for ensuring that all apparel line sheets are up to date for assigned categories, including design details (sketches, style numbers and materials)
• Work collaboratively with Senior Designer to execute and refine creative concepts
• Own the beginning-to-end design process, from research and concept development to final execution
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production development, tech and marketing team
• Participate in building marketing messages around seasonal groups or ideas that make for compelling storytelling that drive DTC business
• Manage style set up, fittings, tech packs, front/back sketches and BOM’s for owned styles each season
• Manage and create artwork for stripe and embroidery layouts, pitch colors for artwork development, work on scale for novelty motifs
• Sit in development fittings, proto fittings and production fittings with Tech, production and Design leadership
• Create detailed flat sketches and update based on design meetings and fittings.
• Support team in preparation for major milestone meetings including Sketch Review, Proto Review, SMS and Product Knowledge
• Create assets with the Design Team to create a seasonal deck for Marketing and Wholesale before selling, including fabric Mood board, inspiration imagery and seasonal group highlights
• Collaborate with the Design team members on other product categories to ensure cohesiveness of collection

• Exceptional communication and organization skills.
• Takes on design challenges with ease, willing to take direction, and is flexible to changes as the business needs develop and grow.
• Demonstrates a strong proficiency in illustrator and photoshop
• Strong understanding of the full cycle design development process from concept to selling.
• Understanding of the brand aesthetic and lifestyle
• Attention to detail to ensure all samples are high quality
• Flexibility, confidence and the ability to take on challenges to ensure company goals are met.
