Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs both routine and non-routine audits of compliance and fraud activities, financial records, accounts, cash, reports, internal controls and operations
Assesses effectiveness of controls, accuracy of information and efficiency of operations
Assigns work to others on project team
Provides recommendations detailing corrective actions for audited departments
Examples of Duties UNDER ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISION
Prepares reports and correspondence, completes special projects and maintains records and files
Completes all aspects of the audit with limited supervision
Documents all pertinent information throughout the process
Follows-up on audit issues by collaborating with the applicable business process owner regarding progress and validating effective remediation through testing
Creates recommendations regarding internal control processes and related procedures in order to evaluate effectiveness and compliance with policies and regulations
Analyzes current business processes, technologies, risk management practices and areas of potential risk and documents potential issues and improvements
Collaborates with clients directly to determine business objectives, root causes, and effective corrective actions
Maintains professional proficiency through self-study resources, computer tutorials and other types of training
Identifies opportunities to utilize data analytics techniques where appropriate to evaluate large and complex populations of data

Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree
Accounting

Public Administration
Related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Two years of auditing, accounting, finance, or budget analyst experience required
EQUIVALENCY
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
