Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

The Medical Billing Representative - provides administrative support to the daily operations within the assigned function(s).

+ The incumbent generates and analyzes diverse reports and work lists in the identification, research and resolution of routine claim data errors and issues.

+ Performing daily billing, adjustment and correspondence activities in compliance with company policies and procedures.

+ Candidate needs to have experience with meeting productivity measures.

+ They are required to have 50 touches a day on accounts.

+ Looking for a candidate that has had Revenue Cycle experience.

+ This position is someone that will be handling insurance collections and review.

+ They need to know how to analyze an explanation of benefits from the payor, denials for coding issues or billing issues, which means they need to be familiar with CPT codes and basic billing. (Not all of billing, but the basics of billing.)

+ They need to know how to resolve the claims issue all the way to full payment based on a fee schedule.

+ Candidate will be analyzing a claim/bill to determine if the client has received a full payment or if the claims needs to be adjusted.

FULLY REMOTE - Prefer for candiate to sit near Dallas, TX if possible.

+ Hours are 7:30am-5:00pm

+ Workers will pick an 8 hour schedule and stick to it.

+ They can start between 7A - 8:30A CST and be done between 3:30P - 5P CST.

+ Workers are expected to average 45 - 50 claims a day once in the role and fully trained.

+ Equipment will be shipped unless located within an hour of the Plano, TX office.

+ Pay range is $18 - 20 / hr. Interviews will be conducted virtually.

+ 3 month contract to hire (temp to hire)

EDUCATION: High School Diploma required

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

+ Candidates must have 2-4 years of prior Revenue Cycle experience.

+ Ideal candidate will have 4 years or more of experience with claim edits, claim rejections, working with a clearing house, etc.

+ Must be able to read EOBs, understand the difference between different denials, and medical coding.

+ This role is highly analytical and can require lots of research.

+ Experience utilizing Athena or Acumen EPIC systems highly preferred.

+ Must have experience with Medicare / Medicaid collection.

+ Need to have solid A/R Revenue Cycle background .

+ Must have experience with Commercial and gov't insurance, following up on claims, working through payor portals ,etc.

+ Experience with medical billing would be a bonus and help tremendously with the role.

+ Fully remote, but if candidates are local to Plano, TX they will likely be asked to come into the office to assist with paper claims if needed (once a month or so).
