Are you a dynamic and hands-on leader with a knack for coaching and team management? Mobile Outfitters is looking for a proactive and experienced Production Manager to oversee our production operations. This role demands a detail-oriented individual who thrives in managing daily operations while fostering team development and driving continuous improvement.

Role Overview: As our Production Manager, you'll be at the heart of our production team, helping to set and achieve ambitious goals. You’ll be involved in every aspect of production, from scheduling and quality control to collaborating across departments to address and resolve issues. Your hands-on approach and commitment to excellence will be key in delivering high-quality products and maintaining a motivated and efficient team.

What does a Production Manager do, anyway? As our Production Manager, you'll be at the heart of our production team, helping to set and achieve ambitious goals. You’ll be involved in every aspect of production, from scheduling and quality control to collaborating across departments to address and resolve issues. Your hands-on approach and commitment to excellence will be key in delivering high-quality products and maintaining a motivated and efficient team.

In plain terms, here’s what this usually means:

  • Sets priorities and schedule for the team to ensure task completion
  • Work alongside the team - we are looking for a leader who will be hands-on.
  • Willingness to learn and be the subject matter expert on all of our manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate with our logistics team regarding production needs and schedules.
  • Identifies and resolves day-to-day quality, technical, and operational issues for the production team
  • Sets priorities to meet deadlines; develops plans to meet short-term objectives and KPIs.
  • Responsible for establishing a First Time Right culture by reducing waste and constantly driving continuous improvement. 
  • Exercise judgment and decision making to ensure quality product is reliably produced while managing cost.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identify, prioritize and champion improvement initiatives for process efficiency, cycle time, and yield, reduce process variability and eliminate waste
  • Provide coaching on professional development and career paths. Provide timely feedback and performance evaluations for direct reports after obtaining the relevant input and evaluation
  • Keep all team members informed on current policies and procedures, and all other company communications
  • In coordination with our Product Development team, Identify root causes of production issues and implement corrective action.

  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative.
  • 3+ years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum (3) years’ experience in a functional area, such as operations management, quality, continuous improvement and/or supply chain.
  • Excellent communication skills and people skills, able to provide hands on leadership support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement and quality management.
  • Solid people management experience, able to lead a team and hold people accountable, able to develop metrics and KPI for employee performance.
  • Ability to lead lean initiatives, such as 5S, value stream mapping, process observation, six sigma, Kanban/pull systems, TPM, and/or Kaizen events.
  • Experience with ERP software.
