Job Description
In this position, you will be an important member of the quality interacting daily with inspectors, manufacturing operators, engineers, suppliers, and customers . Assist in the coordination of the rubber compound manufacturing department's operations and responsibilities.
Responsibilities for the position include: - Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following company safety rules, regulations, and procedures. Contribute to a Safety-First Culture by identifying Risky Situations. Enforce all PPE requirements.
- Perform as technical liaison with production planning, operations, and engineering personnel on all quality-related topics (inspection, testing, nonconformities management, manufacturing process PAR and CAR, etc ...)
- Support the planning and the design of quality control inside manufacturing processes, as part of the project team, and following APQP principles if requested.
- Maximize efficiency by analyzing quality issues/data/results and propose improvements.
- Review and evaluate proposed and processed engineering changes and/or other specification requirements from a quality point of view.
- Assist in the management of the MRB process with engineering and production and ensure a quick and controlled disposition of all nonconforming materials.
- Facilitate all customer's CARs related to the manufacturing process, publish, and manage quality alerts and containment actions on the floor in coordination with the production management.
- Implement quality improvements to drive lower nonconformities level of our manufacturing processes (application of SPC principles, mistake proofing, quality training, self-inspection)
- Support the training of all floor operators to self-inspection, quality principles, quality control, and validate all quality-related floor instructions (as visual criteria, limit samples).
- Manage and complete FAIs, PPAPs, APQPs etc. in a timely manner
- Supervise the inspection team and manage inspection resources to meet the manufacturing needs in terms of scheduling / lead-time.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from a four-year college or university preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Plus 2+ years of experience in quality in a component manufacturing business environment.
- Proven track record in manufacturing quality management and leadership, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Knowledge of quality tools, problem-solving tools, group animation, brainstorming
- Experience working in an ISO 9000 / AS 9100 / IATF 16949 environment
- Knowledge of SPC, Lean, TOC methodologies
- Inspection team management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a US Citizen based on ITAR & NOFORN requirements.
