Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Project Change Engineer for the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division Engineering and Manufacturing team. This role will be in Huntsville, AL, Roy, UT and will provide enabling support for all business areas within the SDS portfolio. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.    

What You’ll Get To Do:

Oversee the development, request, and implementation of changes to the Program and technical baseline with a focus on ensuring changes are well understood, documented, and executed through the Program approved Change Boards. The Project Change Engineers bring a “cradle to grave” solution for Program changes.

  • Develop change request packages and represent the package through the change board process
  • Ensure change request package meets quality standards and is board ready
  • Coordinate comment follow-up, resolution, and approvals
  • Coordinate and provide input into impact assessments
  • Coordinate resolution and closeout of board action items
  • Interface with Configuration Management when submitting change requests and finalize change requests after board approval
  • Ensure approved change requests are implemented prior to change request closure
  • Follow through to ensure change requests are closed timely

Job Qualifications

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:   

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher in a Scientific, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2 Years experience; 0 Years with Masters
  • U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret Security Clearance obtained/reviewed within the last 6 years and the ability to obtain Special Program Access
  • Experienced with MS Office
  • Presentation experience with the ability to present to project and program management, other technical managers, and customers

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:   

  • Current DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes
  • Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and
  • Subcontractor technical oversight experience
  • 1 year of project management experience.
Salary Range: $68,500 - $102,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
